At last it was our turn to see Patty Duke. She was right there at BBC and she was going to talk to us! I was so excited I was hopping all over. Mom was real excited too because she has been a fan of Patti's for a long, long time. There she was!!

After the presentation, people could get to talk to Patty, but you had to stand in line. While we were in line we met Kristi and Donna from Michigan. They knew me! They had seen my webpages.

Look!! Patty Duke is really holding me!!! Aunt Barb is with us too.

While all the activities were going on, there was also a silent auction taking place. Mom fell in love with this little lamb and bid on it. She kept running back to the auction tent checking on the bids. It was really tense the last couple of minutes, but she did win.

We found out that the the Junior Bean, Matt Lowenthal, was out by the driveway selling stuff. Matt is the son of Gary Lowenthal (the Head Bean) who started Boyds bears. You might say Gary is the father of all of us boyds bears and hares.
We rushed out to meet Matt. He didn't have much stuff left to sell but he did have some bunnies and that's what we wanted anyway.
This is me with Matt. He's really cute. I asked Mom is she thought he would date a hare, when I get a little older, of course.. Mom said she didn't think he could date me because, in a way, if you really think about it, he is my half brother.

There was a big regular auction outside late in the day. They auctioned off a lot of bears for a lot of money. It was for charity. Aunt Barb and I went outside. Mom said it was too hot and stayed on the patio in the shade.

This has been so exciting!! I think Mom must have been really tired because she let me have a big sundae instead of a real supper.

Back at the motel, we heard that the "Long Island group" was having a party so we had to check it out.

What great day it was!
I was so tired, I thought I could sleep thru a train wreck....but Mom had the air conditioning turned up full blast blowing right on our bed. I was freezing!! I climbed out of bed and cuddled up in Mom's suitcase. Then I slept like a rock.
