The hares settled into a routine. Every day, after breakfast and supper, Hare-iette worked on teaching James to read.

In the afternoons, Hare-iette was often busy mowing a lawn or helping with the little bears and hares.

While she was busy James tinkered, helped around the house and practiced his reading. The rest of the time they played outdoors.

It was getting near time to go to Gettysburg and take James to his new parents. Hare-iette decided he needed some new clothes to take with him. James loved Hare-iette's bib overalls and wanted a pair like that, but without the flowers on the bib. He also picked out a shirt a lot like hers. They looked like twins. Well I guess they are twins ...well, they are from the same litter but there were 14 in the litter, so I'm not sure twins is the right word, but you get the idea.

Hare-iette showed James the cell phone her grandmother had gotten her. James is hoping his new family will get him one too.

The Trip

This is Hare-iette at the keyboard. Mom is really busy so I'm going to write for a while.

Time to leave for Gettysburg. James and I were ready and strapped in our seat belts.

When we stopped at a rest stop, Mom let James go into the men's room by himself, but she waited right outside the door, and waited and waited and waited.

But when we went in the ladies room, she hung me on the door again!! This is NOT fair!!

In Gettysburg, we met our friends for dinner.
