A Visit with Bailey

Mom was right. It was much better to wait until Bailey wasn't busy. Bailey let Mom take pictures, and signed these 2 little Bailey bears for us.

Then she signed my foot. I was very happy about that.

Then I asked if I could do an interview with her for my website, and she agreed.
Now, I didn't have a tape recorder and Mom doesn't take shorthand so this isn't exactly word for word, but Mom wrote down the information.
Here's my exclusive interview.

H- How old are you, Bailey?
B- I'm 18

H- And you're in college?
B- Yes, I just finished my first year at NYU. I'm going into Poverty Law.

H- Poverty Law? Then what will you do after you graduate?
B- I'll work with organizations like CPS (Child Protective Services)
H-Wow, that's great.

H- Did you grow up around here?
B- Yes, I did.

H- And now you are in the big city? Do You like it?
B- I love it!

H- Now, was there really an Edmund?
B- No, my father made him up. I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16.

H- Was there really an Emily?
B- Oh yes, she was my best friend. She still is.

H- How old were you when the Bailey bears came out?
B- About 6, I think. Bailey came out first, then Edmund, Indy, Emily and finally Matthew.

H- Who was Indy?
B- Indy was our dog. He just died last year, at age 17.
H- Oh, I'm sorry.

H- Bailey bears come out twice a year, but Matthew bears only come out once a year. Why is that?
B- My father's not stupid. The Bailey Bears sell better.

H- How did Matthew feel about that?
B- I don't think he cared. But when we were little and having a spat, I could always get him with "MY bears sell better than YOUR bears!"
H- *giggle*

H- Do you collect stuffed animals?
B- No, I just have my Bailey bears.

H- Is there anything you'd like to say to the FoBs?
B-Yes, it was great meeting you all, and thank you for coming to my sale. I hope everyone got something special.

Then Bailey granted my most specialist wish! She got her Dad (and mine)to sign my foot. I was the happiest, hoppiest hare ever!!!
